Joining Us

The assemblies for worship at the Rockville Church of Christ follow the simple, spiritual pattern of the New Testament. The worship service lasts about 60 minutes and the Bible studies last about 45 minutes. The worship service will begin with an introduction and song, followed by a prayer to our Lord.

We will then continue to sing songs of praise and encouragement from the heart (Ephesians 5:19). The songs will be projected on a screen or can be followed in a song book so that everyone can engage in worship together. After singing we will spend time remembering the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus by taking the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Then an opportunity is given for Christians to give from the heart to the Lord (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7). You are not asked nor obligated to give; however, you may give if you desire in person or via our website.  The money is used to further the teaching of the Bible in this community.

After the Lord’s Supper and the opportunity to give, there will be a reading from God’s word which leads into a message spoken from God’s word (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 4:2). Every message has encouraging and practical help for your life. You are welcome to participate in as much of the worship service as you are comfortable doing. The worship service will then end with one final song and one final prayer.
